Owned & Operated by 3 Generations of Tar Heels

Grandad  proposed to Grandmother on Franklin Street when they were students in 1957. This happened soon after the 32-0 men’s basketball team —known as McGuire’s Miracle — won the national championship in triple overtime over the Wilt Chamberlain led Kansas team.

Grandad drove up to watch both of the triple overtime games

in a 1949 Chevy convertible with 4 other students

. This location — then a gasoline station — is where they filled up before they left for Kansas City.

Great Food & Drink in the Middle of Southern Heaven

Since 1957, we have visited about every good restaurant & hot dog stand in the great state of North Carolina. Nothing could be finer than to be right here on Franklin Street, literally the best place on earth. To make your visit special, we create dishes from Murphy to Manteo so you feel right at home.
